Our flagship event, the 50km Ultra is an IAU Bronze Label event that stretches from Coolangatta to Palm Beach. This two lap course sees runners pass by creeks and mangroves with ocean views throughout. Taking place on Sunday 3 December, this event will also serve as the National 50km Championship in 2023.

This is a fast, mostly flat 50km course ideal for first timers or those looking to achieve a PB in the 50km distance.

The course departs Queen Elizabeth Park in Coolangatta and follows the stunning Oceanway north to Palm Beach, then returning south to Coolangatta. Enjoy running this stunning stretch of coastline as you pass by creeks and mangroves with ocean views from start to finish.

Participants will complete two laps of this AIMS Certified course, complete with course marshals, medical support and drink stations throughout.

Timing results will be provided by age categories. The age categories are as follows: 18-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-69; 70+

All finishers will receive a Finisher Medal. Trophies will also be presented to 1st , 2nd and 3rd placing in each gender category overall.

No prams, scooters or wheelchairs are to be used in the event due to the nature of the course. Running with dogs is also prohibited. For clarification on this please contact the Race Director via email at [email protected].

Drink stations will be positioned at 3km intervals and will carry water and Fixx Nutrition Fuel X Endurance Drink.

Participants in the 50km event will also have access to CrampFix Shots and Gel X Pro Lemon Sorbet at drink stations. Please note, the number of gels and shots on course is limited and we strongly recommend you carry your own supply.

We’ll have drinks on ice for you at the finish line in our recovery marquee.

Aid stations will be self serve throughout the run course. Tables will be set up and clearly marked and communicated (via aid station volunteers) as to what each table offers. Please help yourself and place waste in the bins provided. To clarify, the event will provide cups (ready filled) for you to consume at each aid station.

Your entry includes finisher medal, participant shirt (or singlet), race bib with chip timing + 1 issue Runner’s World subscription.

Participants that registered before 23:59 September 14 were provided with a choice between t-shirt and singlet. Participants that register after this date will receive a singlet, if registered before midnight October 26. (Offer excludes IMPI Sportswear Kids Dash participants).

Your shirt/singlet will be provided to you when you receive your race pack. If you opted for postage, this will be sent to you along with your race bib. If you opted for collection of your race pack at the event venue, this will be provided to you then.

You may opt to have your race pack (bib & shirt/singlet) posted to you ahead or the event for a fee of $12.95, or alternatively collect this from the venue.

Race pack collection is open from 12:00pm – 6:30pm on Saturday 2 December from the registration marquee, located within Queen Elizabeth Park. Please note there is strictly no collection of race packs on Sunday 3 December.
