PARKING & TRANSPORT

The start and finish line of the fisiocrem GC50 Run Festival is located within Queen Elizabeth Park, Coolangatta, next to Coolangatta SLSC.

There are a number of bus routes travelling to Coolangatta from all directions of the Gold Coast and Northern NSW, with the most frequent being bus routes 700, 760 and 768.

Getting to Coolangatta by car is an easy drive on the Pacific Motorway approximately an hour and a half south of Brisbane and just over an hour north of Ballina. We do however strongly recommend car-pooling wherever possible, as parking within the area is limited.

 

If you’re visiting from overseas or interstate and intend on flying into the Gold Coast, the airport is conveniently located just minutes from Coolangatta, just off the Gold Coast Highway along Musgrave Street.

Arriving at the Gold Coast Airport, a centrally located information desk offers assistance with any ongoing transport options you may require including transfers, shuttles, car hire and taxis.

For an even more affordable way of getting to Coolangatta, the local bus services operates from the airport to Marine Parade and Griffith Street in Coolangatta. Departing daily from the airport, the 761 route takes approximately 15 minutes to reach central Coolangatta. There are also taxis available from outside the terminal that will take you directly to your accommodation.

Car hire is also a great option, particularly if you intend on exploring other parts of the Gold Coast while visiting Coolangatta. A number of rental companies offer car hire from the terminal and you can choose to either pre-book your vehicle prior to arrival or shop around for the best deal on the day.

There are various options that provide easy walking access to Queen Elizabeth Park, Coolangatta, however please note parking is limited and we strongly recommend car pooling wherever possible.

Chalk and Lanham Street Car Park: Parking here is free for 3 hours and the venue is a short 400m walk from this car park. This car park is accessed from Chalk Street. Parking restrictions here are from 9am – 5pm, therefore providing parking until 12:00pm on Sunday.

The Strand: The Strand Shopping Centre on Marina Parade provides secure undercover parking. Parking is free on weekends for the first two hours.

Marine Parade: Marina Parade provides lots of free street parking options from Queen Elizabeth Park, south towards Greenmount. Parking here is free with no time restrictions on Sunday (in places) and provides 3 hours of free parking on Saturday.

Griffith Street: Griffith Street provides 1 hour of free parking on both Saturday and Sunday and is located approximately 300m from the venue, one block back from the beach. Grafton Street parking restrictions are in place from 9am – 5pm.

Kirra Beach: Just around the headland – a 550m walk to the venue. There are a lot of parks here and along this stretch.
