Through bullying, family breakdown, anxiety, friendship issues and crisis, Queensland children and young people have been supported by SU QLD school chaplains for more than 30 years.
Today, more than 900 Queensland school communities (and more than 50 schools across the Gold Coast) are accessing social, emotional and spiritual support through school chaplaincy.
You too can bring hope to a young generation by keeping this vital work going in our Gold Coast schools.
For every dollar you raise at the fisciocrem GC50 Run Festival you can give children and young people in your chosen community additional hours of chaplaincy support, or you can help support the work of chaplaincy across Queensland – it’s your choice!
SU QLD school chaplains or ‘chappies’ support young people in one of today’s most high-pressure environments – the schoolyard. In 2020 this support was even more crucial, as school staff, families and students once again turned to their chappies in the face of rising mental health issues, family conflicts and behavoural problems during COVID-19*.
Chappies provide a listening ear and a caring presence for children and young people in crisis, and those who just need a friend.
This work is only made possible through Federal and State government funding and the generosity of local communities. For every dollar you raise at the fisiocrem GC50 Run Festival you’ll be giving local children and young people additional hours of support when they need it most. Thank you!
